Pizza Pasta


My family loves pizza. If you have read any of my Meal Planning Posts, you've seen that we have pizza in some form just about every week. Sometimes we eat takeout pizza from our favorite pizza place, sometimes it's completely homemade with homemade dough and pizza sauce, sometimes I use biscuits or pita bread and sometimes I make it in the form of a pasta dish.

If you don't have time to make pizza from scratch, this pasta dish is a great alternative. You can still add homemade elements to it with homemade sausage (post coming soon) or homemade pizza sauce or you can just use all pre-made ingredients for a super quick and easy meal.


Pizza Pasta


  • 1/2 lb sausage (Italian or other), browned & crumbled
  • Pepperoni
  • Pizza Sauce or your favorite sauce in a jar
  • 6oz macaroni pasta
  • 2 cups Mozerella, Shredded


In a skillet, brown the sausage. While the sausage is cooking, cook macaroni as directed. Once sausage is brown, add pepperoni and pizza sauce and bring to a simmer. (if using the homemade pizza sauce, reserve some of the pasta water to thin it out enough to coat the macaroni). When the sauce mixture is heated through, stir in pasta and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese then transfer to an oven save dish. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
